Andrea began with loss.
On August 23, 2023, we lost our father to complications from anaemia that later resulted in heart failure. In the days leading up to his passing, we did everything we could to save him. We reached out to family and friends, raising funds urgently to cover medical bills. Despite the love and support we received, the funds were not enough.
We moved him from one hospital to another, searching for affordable care, hoping for a breakthrough that never came. Treatment delays, financial pressure, and uncertainty became our daily reality. In the end, the lack of immediate financial access cost us the most precious thing — a life that could have been saved.
That moment exposed a painful truth: in Nigeria, medical emergencies don’t just test health systems — they test finances. And too often, families lose not because treatment doesn’t exist, but because money runs out.
Two years later, hope arrived — fragile, tiny, and fighting.
On August 20, 2025, Andrea was born prematurely at just six months. She required immediate admission into the ICU, where doctors confirmed she would need three months of intensive care to survive. Once again, we faced the familiar challenge — raising money urgently for medical care.
We ran around, reaching out to people, designing and sharing graphics, and asking for help wherever we could. The process was exhausting, uncertain, and overwhelming. This time, by God's grace and the support of kind people, we were able to raise the funds needed. Andrea survived. She made it.
And in that moment, something became clear.
If it was this difficult for us — with access, skills, and support — then millions of others were facing the same struggle with even fewer resources. There was no transparent, verified, or trusted system to raise medical funds in Nigeria. People relied on social media posts, unverified appeals, and hope.
That was when Andrea became more than a name. It became a mission.
Andrea was created to ensure that no family has to beg blindly, no donor has to doubt legitimacy, and no patient is denied care because help couldn't reach them in time.
Andrea exists to turn pain into purpose — and loss into life-saving impact.
